CHRONOMÈTRE.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about our tools (stopwatch, timer, Pomodoro) and how to get the best experience.

Is Chronomètre.com free to use?
Yes—100% free. No sign-ups, no downloads. Just open the page and start the stopwatch, timer, or Pomodoro.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The UI is fully responsive and works on major mobile/tablet browsers (iOS/Android).
Can I use it offline?
Some pages work offline if cached (PWA). For best reliability, open it once online and add it to your Home Screen.
What’s the difference between a stopwatch and a timer?
A stopwatch counts up from zero. A timer counts down from a set duration. Chronomètre.com offers both, plus Pomodoro.
Can I use it for sports or workouts?
Absolutely—great for HIIT, running, gym workouts, or swim timing (keep devices safe from moisture).
Will the timer play a sound when it finishes?
Yes. Enable sound and make sure your browser volume isn’t muted. On mobile, one tap is sometimes required to allow audio.
Can I keep the screen awake during a countdown?
On supported browsers, an option to prevent sleep is available. Otherwise, increase your device’s auto-lock timeout.
What about privacy?
No account required. Settings (theme, language, preferences) are stored locally. We don’t send your timing data to our servers.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes, depending on the tool: Space (start/pause), R (reset), L (lap), Enter (confirm timer). On mobile, use the large touch controls.
Is the site multilingual?
Yes—French and English by default, with more coming.
